With emerging applications for smart and intelligent coating systems in energy, there has been increasing activity in researching magnetic nanomaterial coating flows. Surface tension features significantly in such regimes, and in the presence of heat transfer, Marangoni (thermocapillary) convection arises. Motivated by elaborating deeper the intrinsic transport phenomena in such systems, in this paper, a mathematical model is developed for steady radiative heat transfer and Marangoni magnetohydrodynamic flow of a Cu-water nanofluid influencing a strong magnetic field through a porous disk. The semianalytical adomain decomposition method is employed to find the solution of flow governing equations, which are reduced into ordinary differential equation form via the Von Karman similarity transformation. Validation with a generalized differential quadrature algorithm is included. The response in dimensionless velocity, temperature, wall heat transfer rate and shear stress is investigated for various values of the control parameters. Temperature is reduced with increasing Marangoni parameter, whereas the flow is accelerated. With increasing permeability parameter, the temperatures are elevated. Increasing radiative flux boosts temperatures further from the disk surface. Increasing magnetic parameter strongly dampens the boundary layer flow and elevates the temperatures, also eliminating temperature oscillations at lower magnetic field strengths.  相似文献

Industrialized building system (IBS) is a construction process that uses techniques, products, components or building systems that involve prefabricated components and on‐site installation. The structural behaviour of a prefabricated frame structure is widely affected by the specifications of the beam‐to‐column connection. The understanding on the real behaviour of a connection can be assessed by conducting full‐scale experimental tests. In this study, a new IBS hybrid steel–concrete connection in a full‐scale H‐subframe under monotonic loading is investigated. This innovative connection system, consists of precast concrete beam‐and‐column elements with embedded steel end connectors, is patented as Smart IBS. This paper reports the testing procedures and results of this semi‐rigid IBS beam‐to‐column connection to obtain the important attributes of the connection as well as its comparison with monolithic cast‐in‐place reinforced concrete model. The height of both H‐subframes is 3.3 m while the free length of the beam is 3.2 m. The incremental loads were applied as two point loads in one‐third and two‐third of the beam length. The characteristic relationships of the connection such as load to mid‐span deflection, strength, stiffness, ductility, failure modes and crack patterns are studied and compared between both structural systems. In this study, the effects of cutting forces on the support of horizontal woodworking milling machine are examined during profile cutting process using both experimental and analytical approaches. The support modeled in 3D using SolidWorks software is a crucial component of the horizontal milling machine used to locate and fix the wood workpiece during the cutting process on the workbench. The effects of cutting forces on the support specimens are measured experimentally considering vibration and failure analyses. Analytical stresses and modal analyses of the support were also calculated using finite element-based analysis approach. Chatter vibration forces of the cutting tool which resulted from cutting forces in x-, y-, and z-directions were calculated analytically during the profile cutting process. The results showed that both cutting and chatter forces are highly effective on the support component failure of the woodworking milling machines.  相似文献

To evaluate lightning current using measured electromagnetic fields, an inverse procedure algorithm is proposed in this article, where the variation of return velocity stroke velocity is considered as opposed to previous methods where the velocity is set at a constant value. The proposed algorithm considers all electromagnetic fields components directly in the time domain without needing to apply any extra conversions. Moreover, it can support the wide range of current models based on the general form of engineering current models. The proposed method is validated using a sample of triggered lightning data and measured electromagnetic fields at two stations with different distances from the lightning channel. The results illustrate that the proposed method could estimate the behavior of current along the channel and can thus be used for preparing a data bank to record lightning current parameters of a wide range of lightning occurrences based on measured fields.  相似文献

The capacities of montmorillonite K10 (K10), aluminum pillared K10 (Al-K10), and iron pillared K10 (Fe-K10) to eliminate zearalenone (ZEN) from synthetic media and the aqueous part of canned corn were studied. Original clay and pillared clays were characterized in terms of X-ray powder diffraction analysis and N(2) adsorption-desorption isotherms. The maximum amounts of adsorption of ZEN by K10, Al-K10, and Fe-K10 at 25°C and pH 7 were 0.202, 1.305, and 1.028 mg/g and 0.264, 0.096, and 0.255 mg/g, calculated from Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms, respectively. The adsorption of ZEN was also studied as a function of adsorbent amount (1 to 30 mg), ZEN concentration (2 to 20 mg/liter), pH of solution (pH 4 to 10), and contact time. Pillared clays could be an excellent alternative for removing ZEN in contaminated food samples and are potentially low-cost adsorbents with a promising future as an alternative to more costly materials.  相似文献

Ethanol has been considered as an alternative fuel for diesel engines. On the other hand, injection timing is a major parameter that sensitively affects the engine performance and emissions. Therefore, in this study, the influence of advanced injection timing on the engine performance and exhaust emissions of a single cylinder, naturally aspirated, four stroke, direct injection diesel engine has been experimentally investigated when using ethanol‐blended diesel fuel from 0 to 15% with an increment of 5%. The original injection timing of the engine is 27° crank angle (CA) before top dead center (BTDC). The tests were conducted at three different injection timings (27, 30 and 33° CA BTDC) for 30 Nm constant load at 1800 rpm. The experimental results showed that brake‐specific energy consumption (BSEC), brake‐specific fuel consumption (BSFC), NOx and CO2 emissions increased as brake‐thermal efficiency (BTE), smoke, CO and HC emissions decreased with increasing amount of ethanol in the fuel mixture. Comparing the results with those of original injection timing, NOx emissions increased and smoke, HC and CO emissions decreased for all test fuels at the advanced injection timings. Beypazari lignite was extracted with acetonltrile and acetonitrile/HClO4 and electrochemical hydrogenation of the lignite in acetonltrile/LlC104 in the presence of HClO4. was investigated. Controlled potential electrolysis experiments were carried out at -0.5 V vs a Ag/AgCl electrode. Infrared spectra of the products were measured and yields of extraction were determined. Extraction yields In acetonitrile and acetonitrile/HCIO4 were 9 and 17.3 %, respectively. The yield of extractable material did not increased in the electrochemical environment. Acetonltrile extraction produced residual matter with less hydroxyl groups. Stirring the lignite in acetonitrile(HClO4 for 7 hours oxidized both the extract and the residue. The residue seemed to contain less hydroxyl groups than that of the acetonltrile extraction residue and It has new carbonyl and etheric groups that were absent in the original lignite. It was found that the material extracted during electrochemical treatment by acetonitrile/HClO4 was hydrogenated and the coal matrix remained intact. As the quantity of HClO4 consumed in electrolysis was increased the amount of methyl groups in the extract also increased. Higher potentials are probably neccessary to hydrogenate the coal matrix by the electrochemlcally produced hydrogen atoms.  相似文献

In this study, Cd removal from aqueous solutions via clinoptilolite was investigated in terms of the effect of pretreatment and regeneration. Four different chemicals (NaCl, KCl, CaCl2 and HCl) were tested for this purpose. Samples treated by a total of 20 bed volume (BV) of 1 M NaCl solution prepared in tap water with no pH adjustment were found to perform satisfactorily. Five exhaustion and regeneration cycles were then carried out, revealing an increasing Cd removal capacity, coupled with constant Cd elution efficiency in progressing cycles. Furthermore, the change of pH and the presence of exchangeable (Na, K, Ca and Mg) and framework cations (Si and Al) in the aqueous phase were investigated. Subsequently, these were discussed in terms of progressive conversion of clinoptilolite to its homoionic Na-form, and the presence of different Cd removal mechanisms in the system. This study emphasizes the potential of clinoptilolite to be a part of sustainable wastewater treatment technologies, enabling the recovery of both the sorbent and the metal, via demonstration of effective Cd removal and clinoptilolite recovery, besides successful concentration of metal in the regenerant solution.  相似文献

Sorption of malachite green on chitosan bead   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
Chitosan bead was synthesized for the removal of a cationic dye malachite green (MG) from aqueous solution. The effects of temperature (303, 313 and 323 K), pH of the solution (2-11) on MG removal was investigated. Preliminary kinetic experiment was carried out up to 480 min. The sorption equilibrium was reached within 5 h (300 min). In order to determine the adsorption capacity, the sorption data were analyzed using linear form of Langmuir and Freundlich equation. Langmuir equation showed higher conformity than Freundlich equation. Ninety-nine percent removal of MG was reached at the optimum pH value of 8. From kinetic experiments, it was obtained that sorption process followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. This study showed that chitosan beads can be excellent adsorbents at high pH values. Activation energy value for sorption process was found to be 85.6 kJ mol(-1). This indicates that sorption process can be assumed as chemical process. Due to negative values of Gibbs free energy, sorption process can be considered as a spontaneous. In order to determine the interactions between MG and chitosan bead, FTIR analysis was also conducted.  相似文献

New gear designs are needed because of the increasing performance requirements, such as high load capacity, high endurance, low cost, long life, and high speed. In some applications, such as in wind turbines, the gears experience only uni-directional loading. In these instances, the geometry of the drive side does not have to be symmetric to the coast side. This allows for the designing of gears with asymmetric teeth. In previous studies related to bending stress and load capacity, high performance has been achieved for gears with asymmetric teeth. These gears provide flexibility to designers due to their non-standard design. If they are correctly designed, they can make important contributions to the improvement of designs in aerospace industry, automobile industry, and wind turbine industry. At high operation speeds, there is always a concern of dynamic loads and vibrations of equipment. Therefore, there is a need to fully understand the dynamic behavior of gears with asymmetric teeth. Thus, the primary objective of this paper is to use dynamic analysis to compare conventional spur gears with symmetric teeth and spur gears with asymmetric teeth. The secondary objective is to optimize the asymmetric tooth design in order to minimize dynamic loads. This study offers preliminary results to designers for understanding dynamic behavior of spur gears with asymmetric teeth. For this study, a dynamic model was developed, using MATLAB, and used for the prediction of the instantaneous dynamic loads of spur gears with symmetric and asymmetric teeth. Furthermore, a 2-D three-tooth model was developed for finite element analysis. Fast Fourier transform was used for the frequency analysis of the static transmission errors. It is shown that generally, the dynamic factor, for spur gears with asymmetric teeth, increases with increasing pressure angles on the drive side. For asymmetric teeth, increasing the addendum leads to a significant decrease in the dynamic factor. The static transmission error, at the center of the single tooth contact zone, decreases with increasing pressure angle. The first two harmonics slightly increase with increasing pressure angle. It is further shown that the amplitudes of harmonics of the static transmission errors are significantly reduced when asymmetric teeth with long addendum providing high gear contact ratio close to 2.0 are used.  相似文献
